Venus aspecting the Moon’s Node(s) brings the evaluative/relationship function (symbolized by Venus) in contact with your destiny/life’s lessons (symbolized by the North Node) and/or with your predispositions and innate qualities (symbolized by the South Node). The Nodes exercise a pulling effect on your judgment, values and relationships so they become attuned to the function symbolized by the Node(s) and oriented to the direction of its house placement. This is the case with conflicting aspects, as well, except that the focus is a negative one. Venus can also balance the functions symbolized by the Moon’s Node(s), harmonizing your destiny and/or your predispositions, talents or resources. The nature of the Venus contact can also suggest how you value your destiny and/or your talents and resources.
Venus also symbolizes the anima (the feminine psychological archetype). Thus, a Venus contact with the Moon’s Nodes suggests that your anima is tied in some way to your destiny and/or your predispositions and innate qualities. These may enhance or detract from your femininity, your concept of the feminine or relationships with women; or your anima may be instrumental in pursuing either your destiny or utilizing your talents and resources.
Identified with the Unfolding of Your Destiny
(Opposed South Node)
Venus conjunct the North Node suggests that there is a close tie between the way in which you evaluate your circumstances and approach relationships, on the one hand, and your sense of destiny and purpose in life. It is often the case that your relationships seem fated. You may also actually look for relationships that seem to fulfill your sense of destiny. It is likely that you will expect your partner to aid you in working out your destiny. You are likely to see your relationship(s) as the primary vehicle or arena for you to fullfil your destiny. You will also have a tendency to evaluate things in terms of whether or not they contribute to or hinder your mission in life.
Because the North Node symbolizes somewhat unfamiliar ground—a life direction that needs further development—this aspect may also symbolize your struggles with relationship(s) (and also with the process of evaluation and keeping things in their proper balance). As much as you may be attracted to the idea of a healthy, long-term relationship (as well as to the pursuit of equanimity, justice and harmony), these are likely to represent as yet unrealized goals rather than areas of solid accomplishment. There is much to learn from experiences in these areas.
Venus also symbolizes the anima (the feminine
psychological archetype). This aspect may signify a
fascination with the anima and its possibilities.
Particularly if you are a man, the conjunction may
symbolize the fulfillment of your destiny through a woman
(or your desire and attempt to do so). It may also
symbolize the pivotal role that a woman(en) may play in
The highest transcendent expression of this aspect occurs when you realize that your highest destiny is to merge with that Divine Essence within you. This causes a profound reorientation of your value system toward the spiritual dimension of life. You also realize that the only true and permanent relationship is that between the soul and the Beloved.
You are to insecure to have turned inward and come to grips with the challenges that your destiny has presented before you with respect to your values and relationships. You are unwilling to do the difficult work that is necessary to actualize your destiny. Therefore, you may reject and avoid relationships and/or responsibly developing and owning your own values.
Alternatively, you may place all of the responsibility for your own destiny onto your partner(s). You may have often become obsessed with finding your “soul-mate” or the perfect relationship. This is frequently a prescription for disappointment. If you find this “special someone,” you will probably expect too much of him/her, assuming that now all of your problems will be magically resolved. You fail to realize that, even your partner may be able to help you in reaching your goal, no one else but yourself can tread the path toward your destiny.
Your personality may also express undertones of North Node in the Seventh House.-- Gargatholil Back to Top
Node Your Evaluative and Relationship Functions
With Venus sextiling the North Node, you are likely to experience opportunities to pursue your destiny that come to you through relationships and inter-personal contacts. You may also find that such opportunities come to you in the form of choices and decisions, often involving a choice concerning values. You may be given a set of choices, one of which takes you toward your destiny and the fulfillment of your life’s lesson, and the other of which takes you away from that goal or leaves you in a static state. Opportunities for progressing toward your destiny are likely to occur either through the suggestion or intervention of others or through you working to maintain and/or deepen a relationship.
Your perceptions of beauty and harmony or your attempts to achieve a balance in life may also open the door to advancing toward your destined life lesson. As you approach a greater understanding of your purpose and destiny in life, it is likely that your relationships will benefit. You may also achieve a more balanced approach to life and your values may become more clarified and pure.
Venus also symbolizes the anima (the feminine psychological archetype). Venuses sextile to the North Node suggests that issues of femininity—either your own or his partner’s—may provide you with opportunities to explore your destiny. Pursuing your destiny may also provide you with opportunities to explore your femininity (or the feminine side of your psyche). You may also find that women in your life create opportunities for you to pursue your destiny.
If either Venus or the North Node has a difficult aspect from another planet, the sextile suggests that you have opportunities to relieve the stress that is associated with the difficult aspect. Your destiny (or your efforts to work toward your destiny) may have opportunities to relieve the stress of relationships or stress occurring due to conflicted values (when the difficult aspect is to Venus). Aid may come to you through your relationship(s) when your destiny places you in a difficult position. Often, your own judgmental faculty and your ability to take a balanced approach to a situation can help you deal with your destiny when it is difficult. Contemplation of beautiful forms can often be a vehicle for coming to terms with your destiny or for seeing your destiny more clearly.
You can reach the transcendent potential of Venus sextile the North Node when you realize the true nature of relationship and you transform and purify your value system. Seizing this opportunity will allow you to successfully actualize your highest destiny. Your growing detachment from possessive relationships and your recognition that all worldly relationships are temporal will allow you to grow spiritually. A vision of Eternal Beauty and Harmony motivates you towards your spiritual destiny. In fact, it is your attraction to the spiritual form that has presented itself to you in your life that has led you progressively more and more deeply inward. Through this inward search, you have found that Love is the only Reality. It is this realization that has transformed all of your relationships with others. You now see the Godhood in everyone you meet and you aspire to actualize only the highest values.
Because you are too insecure to make the sacrifices needed to actualize your true destiny, you have remained attached to the sense pleasures and to the people and things that you think you possess. You have thus lost the opportunity to pursue your higher destiny and to work toward greater self-development and actualization. Instead, your destiny remains to wander aimlessly through life, being pulled or repulsed by whatever your senses and conditioned values find attractive or painful.

Node through Your Predispositions and Innate Qualities
With Venus trining the South Node, you are likely to be comfortable with those values, attachments and relationships that reflect past (often past-life) experience. These echoes of your past are in harmony with your value-system and the tenor of your relationships. You are also likely to value and be pleased with your innate qualities—those talents and patterns of behavior that seem to come naturally to you. It is as if you had already done the work of developing them. This predisposes you to be satisfied with your lot in life and may indicate a contented nature.
You may also have strong attachments to what you believe to be your special attributes and, thus, resist giving them up. These attributes may be particularly useful in allowing you to form satisfying relationships and acquiring those things that provide you with pleasure in life. Properly balanced and harmonized with other drives, your innate attributes may even assist you in actualizing your life’s destiny.
Another manifestation associated with this aspect may be an uncanny familiarity with certain people. You seem to enter into relationships easily, finding an immediate comfort level with certain people, as if they were long lost friends. These relationships are likely to be long-lasting and/or significant, as there is often a good deal of attachment evident in them.
Venus also symbolizes the anima (the feminine psychological archetype). The trine to the South Node suggests that you are comfortable with your anima. Your comfort level with your own and other people’s femininity may also be tied to traditional concepts of this archetype that you have inherited from the past. You are likely to not feel much need to change your own concepts of femininity. You are also likely to get along well with women, since you will tend to feel that the feminine quality is in harmony with your own predispositions.
If either Venus or the South Node has a difficult aspect from another planet, the trine suggests a way for you to relieve the stress that is associated with the difficult aspect. Becoming absorbed in your innate qualities and talents or following your predispositions can usually help you restore your balance and equilibrium and deal with the stress associated with a difficult aspect to Venus. Various resources at your disposal or, sometimes, a past association can help you through a difficult time in your relationship.
Your relationship partner(s) can usually help you deal with the anxiety and stress associated with a difficult aspect to the South Node. Often, your own judgmental faculty and your ability to take a balanced approach to a situation can help you create harmony when you are out of balance due to your attachment to negative patterns that are routed in your past or your nature. Contemplation, especially of beautiful forms, may inspire you to rise above these patterns or even to finally disassociate yourself from them.
You can realize the transcendent potential of Venus trine the South Node when you find a reservoir of harmony and beauty within yourself—a spiritual treasure that you feel you have done nothing in this life to earn. You seem to be naturally guided toward a set of elevated values that incline you toward attaining inner peace and harmony. You appreciate the great Gift that has been bestowed upon you. Quite naturally, as your spirituality progresses, you are able to leave behind your attachments to the past and even to what formerly you placed great value on. You see that, compared to the wealth that exists within, these attachments are of no importance.
You have attuned yourself to be in harmony with the best of what you innately are. You may also be fortunate enough to be in contact with someone of high character and spiritual awareness and to have come into his/her presence almost as if an unseen force were bringing the two of you together. You may recognize that the bond that exists between you is an ancient one. Such a relationship with a spiritual wayfarer and/or guide will be of great benefit to you in achieving your own high goals.
Moon’s Nodes Your Life Destiny and from the Actualization of Your Innate
Venus’ square to the Moon’s Nodes suggests that you are generally distracted by your relationships and by your hunger for the experience of pleasure and enjoyment. This causes you to neglect both the pursuit of your destiny in life and the development and utilization of your innate talents and natural attributes. Whenever you turn toward these pursuits, you are distracted. You may be distracted by your attachment to others or by the pull on your energy and resources from those around you. The sacrifice that you must make by putting aside the enjoyment of the senses or the satisfaction that you gain from acquiring possessions cause you to lapse into a comfortable pattern of involvement in the material world and forget both your destiny and your responsibility to utilize your talents and resources.
Sometimes you experience conflict and wavering from one to the other. Sometimes you feel guilty for neglecting your higher duties and responsibilities. At other times, you simply plunge into sensual enjoyment and/or engrossing relationships so that these become the primary focus of your life. This is not to say that you are always given over to a crass hedonism or to an obsessive involvement with other people. The distractions that you pursue can also disguise themselves as noble aims. You may worship art and beauty, or work for peace and harmony, perfect your social graces or strive to be a “good person” to all with whom you have dealings. As admirable as these positive qualities may be, they are not the primary purpose for which you incarnated into this life. By focusing on these distractions, you may be neglecting a talent that could be even more beneficial to yourself and to others.
If you recognize this and you try to develop your innate attributes further and/or you work to find and make progress toward your life’s destiny, you will inevitably be forced to engage in a struggle against spiritual laziness, attachment to people and things and the pull of the senses. Ironically, this struggle itself may become a source of distraction if you get too consumed by your indecision or in trying to find the right “balance.” However, once you leave behind your attachments and obsessions, you are able to find your real strength and purpose in life, as well as making your values and relationships serve your own higher purposes.
The transcendent potential of Venus square the Moon’s Nodes will be realized only after you have struggled with your values and relationships, never losing sight of the need to strive to achieve your true destiny in life, nor of your obligation to make the best use of your innate talents. Overcoming your attachments to people, things and experiences has challenged you to remain focused on your life’s goals and has ultimately proved valuable in achieving those goals. In particular, as you have developed, or found, a value system that is consistent with your higher aims in life. You have redirected and reordered your relationships so that they support your real purpose in life. This has made it possible for you to explore a destiny that is as yet potential, as well as to use those resources with which you are already familiar and comfortable, more fully and perfectly. By bringing your focus on values and relationships to a higher sphere, you have also been able to integrate, in beauty and harmony, your accomplished talents (past) and life’s destiny (future) through your value system and through the dynamics of your relations with others. You now know and value what is Real, work toward the Real, employ all of your talents and predispositions to do so, and manifest your relationship with the Real in all of your relationships with others.Insecurity
In your attachment to what your ego feels is yours, you devote an inordinate amount of energy to preserving your “ownership” over things, people and experiences. You are engrossed in the pursuit of pleasure and you place your own comfort above your obligation to your higher self. You also have become engrossed in your relationships, thinking that these relationships are real and acting as if they are permanent. Your attachment to material values and possessive relationships prevents you from ever recognizing your true destiny or learning your life lesson. You are caught in the morass of your own attachments and entanglements and will suffer the spiritual consequences. Because you are so self-engrossed, you neglect your innate talents to do good, so you are robbed of this reward also. Because you are unwilling to face your faults and correct them, your predisposition to bad habits and negative tendencies simply continues.-- Gargatholil Back to Top
Node and Relationship Functions and the Unfolding of Your Destiny
Venus trine the North Node suggests that you will experience (or wish for) linkages between your sense of destiny and your relationships. The manner in which your destiny unfolds will generally be beneficial to your relationships. Similarly, your relationships also flourish in a manner that is compatible with you pursuing your destiny. Judgments that you make while pursuing your destiny or learning your life lessons are also likely to sound. If you should undergo a reorientation of your value system, this too is likely to be compatible with your destiny, and, in fact, may have a destined quality.
Venus also symbolizes the anima (the feminine psychological archetype). The trine between Venus and the North Node indicates that learning life lessons and realizing your destiny can lead you to a fuller understanding and actualization of the feminine principle within you. You are likely to be comfortable working on your relationship(s) and/or your value system. You may also feel a sense of destiny in your attraction to women, or your relationships with other women. Such relationships generally proceed harmoniously.
either Venus or the North Node has a difficult aspect from
another planet, the trine suggests a way for you to
relieve the stress that is associated with the difficult
aspect. Appreciating your destiny (or your efforts
to work toward your destiny) can usually help you restore
your balance and equilibrium and deal with the stress
associated with a difficult aspect to Venus.
Your relationship partner(s) can usually help you deal
with the anxiety and stress associated with a difficult
aspect to the North Node. Often, your own judgmental
faculty and your ability to take a balanced approach to a
situation can help you create harmony when you are out of
balance when your destiny is difficult.
Contemplation, especially of beautiful forms, may inspire
you to come to terms with your destiny or see your destiny

Functions and Your Natural
Strengths and Talents to Mutually Benefit Each
Venus sextile the South Node suggests that you are able to draw upon your value system and/or relationships to help you deal with those areas in life in which you have accumulated much karmic experience. These experiences generally form the foundation for your innate talents and resources. Thus, your relationships may also help you in further developing your strengths and talents.
You can also use your innate talents and predispositions to achieve greater satisfaction in your relationships. They are also likely to help you acquire and enjoy the things that you value. Whatever talents and inclinations you possess provide you with opportunities to form new or enhance existing relationships. You are often able to draw upon your skills and resources in order to make correct decisions that will lead you to ends that you desire. You will sometimes find resources and opportunities that you was not previously aware of that will allow you to acquire and possess those things that give you pleasure and otherwise enable you to more completely enjoy life. Although you should not expect these opportunities to come without any effort, once you begin looking for them, you will find those opportunities.
Venus also symbolizes the anima (the feminine psychological archetype). The sextile from the South Node suggests that you can use the accumulated experience of your past to explore and/or enhance your anima. You can also employ your predispositions, as well as your skills and talents, to become more feminine (if you are a woman) or to better understand the feminine (if you are male). The sextile also suggests that a woman(en) may be instrumental in helping you to realize your latent potential.
If either Venus or the South Node has a
difficult aspect from another planet, the sextile suggests
that you have opportunities to relieve the stress that is
associated with the difficult aspect. Becoming
absorbed in your innate qualities and talents or following
your predispositions may provide you with opportunities to
relieve the stress of relationships or stress occurring
due to conflicted values (when the difficult aspect is to
Venus). You may take advantage of various
resources at your disposal to help you through a difficult
time in a relationship. Your relationship partner(s)
can often help you deal with the anxiety and stress
associated with a difficult aspect to the South
Node. Your own judgmental faculty and your ability
to take a balanced approach to a situation can help you
create harmony when you are out of balance due to your
attachment to negative patterns that are routed in your
past or your nature. Contemplation of beautiful
forms can often be a vehicle for coming to terms with
these negative patterns or even to finally disassociating
yourself from them.
You can realize the transcendent potential of Venus sextile the South Node when you are able to employ your natural talents in a spiritual direction. You must examine your values and then adjust them so that they reflect a higher purpose. You will naturally begin to perceive your relationships in a spiritual light, realizing that they are temporal and that what is of real value is something higher. You are able to draw upon your inner resources and upon spiritual work that you have already accomplished to propel yourself further along in attaining a state of harmony, peace and eternal beauty. Having attained such a state, you will naturally wish to help others and to spread your love and harmonious feelings.
When you are inwardly insecure, you ignore the opportunities that are before you to improve your relationships and to examine and change your value system in. Instead, you merely enjoy those rewards that come easily to you in life. You may feel comfortable dwelling in your psychic space, which gives rise to complacency and an unwillingness to change and grow. You are essentially living off of your past “good karma.” You enjoy yourself by indulging in sensual pleasures and possessiveness. Your talents and your opportunities to do good and to benefit others go waste. You find satisfaction in the many opportunities you have to enjoy yourself, but it is a fool’s enjoyment that you trade for real growth and future reward.-- Gargatholil Back to Top
Node Relationship with the Unfolding of Your Destiny
Venus quincunx the North Node can be a difficult and critical aspect, although its implications may not be evident to you. The quincunx indicates that there is a disruption (or inconjunct) between your ability to formulate values, evaluate situations and engage in relationships, on the one hand, and your ability to learn your life’s lesson or pursue your destiny, on the other hand. You are likely to have no clue about the importance of clear values or about the role of interpersonal relations in being able to reach your full human potential. Therefore, you are likely to wander aimlessly, without guidance either from others or from your own inner values.
This is not to say, however, that each of these functions—the evaluative/relationship and the pursuit of destiny—is not well developed on its own terms. However, the link between them often seems to be missing. Nevertheless, at certain critical times these functions are forced to act together. This will generally result in you experiencing periodic crises in your life.
Sometimes, a crisis may be a result of you not recognizing the dissonance that exists between your values, judgment, tastes, social behavior or relationships and your destined direction or your life’s lesson. More often, the crisis is the result of some impurity that exists, usually with regard to your values or in the way in which you relate to others. Your values and relationships simply do not have you pointed in the right direction. Occasionally, you may become so obsessed with the idea of your destiny’s importance that you fail to maintain appropriateness in your judgment and relationships.
You will generally create a situation from which there is no painless way out. The solution is hinted at in the association of the quincunx with the sixth house—involving purification and humility—and in Venus’s association with balance. Recognizing your destiny and the lessons that life calls on you to learn can be the instrument for purification and balance. Without the touchstone of a destiny-goal in your life, your relationships and value system are apt to remain underdeveloped and/or unbalanced.
From time to time you will be called upon at critical junctures to make break-throughs by recognizing your life’s destiny and reformulating your value- and/or relationship-system. This will be necessary in order for you to pursue that destiny and make further growth possible. Overall, it is critical that you allow your evaluative/relationship function and your sense of life’s destiny to mutually affect each other, change each other and respond to one another.
There may be a moment of opportunity, demanding courage to grasp, during which you can resolve the crisis. The action that must be taken will usually require or bring about a purification or transformation of your evaluative/relationship complex. If the crisis is resolved, you will become more mature in your judgment and relationships and you will move forward toward your life’s destiny. If the crisis is not resolved, social confusion, aimlessness and/or personal humiliation may result, but hopefully you will have learned a lesson that can motivate you toward future purification and transformation of your evaluative/relationship complex.
Venus also symbolizes the anima (the feminine psychological archetype). The quincunx suggests that your anima has difficulty relating to your destiny and you may feel, consciously or subconsciously, that your anima is not connected to your life’s purpose. This can result in your anima being underdeveloped. Life lessons otherwise learned may have no effect on your anima. It can also result in your femininity (or the feminine side of your psyche) expressing itself in ways that are dissonant with the direction of your life. However, once your anima is connected to your sense of destiny and becomes integrated into your life’s purpose, it is likely to blossom.
You can realize the transcendent potential of Venus quincunx the North Node when you have transformed and purified your value system and, in consequence, your relationships with others. You then achieve a wholeness of psyche and a firmness of purpose that is based upon the successful critical interaction of your evaluative/relationship function and the unfolding of your destiny. Both your evaluative/relationship function and your sense of destiny have been strengthened, transformed and purified.
You have realized that the ultimate purpose of relationship is to assist in achieving your higher destiny. You have taken advantage of every opportunity for finding purpose in your value system and relationships. Consequently, you are able to function at a very high level in those areas of life where values and relationships play a role. Your values, decisions and relationships all serve to move you forward toward your ultimate life goal.
You have failed to see the necessary relationship between values/relationships and your life’s lessons and purpose in life. Thus, at critical phases of your life you have made poor decisions, missed opportunities and remained in dysfunctional relationships because these two functions were not well integrated. You have let the fear of your destiny and your unwillingness to face it trap you into infantile patterns of behavior that are born out of and keep you attached to objects of self-satisfaction and possessiveness.
When your dysfunctionality produces crisis, you look for the path of least resistance, protect your ego, generally make a mess of things, and learn nothing from the experience. Crises are most likely to be brought about through your own aimlessness and disregard for following any consistent progression in life. You refuse to learn and, thus, you not only suffer the consequences of your blindness, but you repeat the same mistakes over again.-- Gargatholil Back to Top
Node Relationship with Your Predispositions and Innate Qualities
Venus quincunx the South Node can be a difficult and critical aspect, although its implications may not be evident to you. The quincunx often symbolizes missed opportunities for personal and interpersonal growth and/or the persistence of deep-rooted problems that ultimately affect your judgment, your relationships and your capacity to enjoy life. The quincunx indicates that there is a disruption (or inconjunct) between your innate talents and resources and their application in the areas of value formation, judgment and relationships. Not only do the latter suffer from a lack of development to their full potential, but also it is extremely difficult for you to use your critical judgment or take advantage of influences from your relationships to remove any of the negativity or dysfunctional behavior patterns that may be the result of experiences embedded in your past.
This is not to say, however, that each of these functions—the evaluative/relationship and your ability to employ your innate talents and resources—are not well developed on their own terms. Nevertheless, at certain critical times these functions are forced to act together. This will generally result in you experiencing periodic crises in your life.
Sometimes, a crisis may result from you not recognizing the dissonance between your values, judgment, tastes, social behavior or relationships, on the one hand, and character traits that may seem second nature to you. More often, the crisis is the result of some impurity, usually with regard to your values and/or to traits and patterns of behavior that are deeply ingrained in you.
You will generally create a situation from which there is no painless way out. The solution to the crisis is hinted at in the association of the quincunx with the sixth house—involving purification and humility—and in Venus’s association with balance. The way out of a crisis that is associated with Venus quincunx the South Node may include putting your innate talents and resources in perspective or taking a close look at the causes and motivations behind certain attitudes and behavior patterns. From time to time you will be called upon at critical junctures to make break-throughs by recognizing the positive qualities inherent in yourself and reformulating your value- and/or relationship-system in order to make better use of these qualities. Overall, it is critical that you allow your evaluative/relationship function and the heritage of your past experience to mutually affect each other, change each other and respond to one another.
There may be a moment of opportunity, demanding courage to grasp, during which you can resolve the crisis. The action that must be taken will usually require or bring about a purification or transformation of your evaluative/relationship complex. If the crisis is resolved, you will become more mature in your judgment and relationships and you will be able to more fully utilize your innate talents and resources. If the crisis is not resolved, social confusion, laziness, failure to employ your talents fully and/or personal humiliation may result, but hopefully you will have learned a lesson that can motivate you in the future to purify and transform your evaluative/relationship complex.
Venus also symbolizes your anima (the feminine psychological archetype). The quincunx of Venus and the South Node suggests that you are not likely to consider your femininity (or the feminine within your psyche) as an asset. Undervaluing your feminine side, it is easy for you to neglect it. If you are a woman, you may be careless about appearing feminine or you may regard your femininity as an irrelevancy. If you male, you are likely to make no attempt to understand or appreciate the feminine. If, however, you connect with your anima and realize the inner wealth that it contains, your anima will have an opportunity to blossom so that you can fully utilize its power.
You can realize the transcendent potential of Venus quincunx the South Node when you achieve a wholeness of psyche and a firmness of purpose that are based upon the successful interaction between your evaluative/relationship function and those traits and qualities that are grounded in your past experience. Both your evaluative/relationship function and your ability to utilize those talents and resources that you innately possess are strengthened, transformed and purified through your successful handling of quincunx-associated crises.
You now realize that none of your talents belong to you—that they are all a gift from the Divine. You also realize that your greatest gift is spiritual awareness and your soul’s innate inclination toward its Source. This knowledge has informed your value system and your relationships and you have, thus, learned to function within these areas at a very high level. You take your interpersonal interactions seriously and you see them as a vehicle for personal growth and development, while building upon those strengths that you have already been granted.
Because your insecurities have made you cling to your ego and your safe and complacent way of life, you have failed to see the necessary relationship between values/relationships and the not always positive subconscious influences from your past experiences. At critical phases of your life you have made poor decisions, missed opportunities and remained in dysfunctional relationships because these two functions were not well integrated.
You have let fear of change and complacency with the familiar trap you into infantile patterns of behavior that are grounded in old patterns of negativity. You have failed to critically evaluate your innate tendencies and you have allowed gross imbalances in your life and character to persist. You have rejected the help that from time to time has been offered to you by others, often considering such assistance to be too demanding or inconvenient for you to accept. You are unaware of your own internal contradictions and, so, you make no attempt to resolve them.
When your dysfunctionality produces crises, you look for the path of least resistance, protecting your ego, generally making a mess of things, and learning nothing from your experience. Crises are most likely to be brought about through your attachment to negative patterns and traits, your unwillingness to change and/or your inflated ideas about the worth of the talents you may possess. You refuse to learn from your experiences and, thus, you not only suffer the consequences of your blindness, but you also repeat the same mistakes over again.-- Gargatholil Back to Top
Predispositions and Innate Qualities
(Opposed North Node)
Venus conjunct the South Node suggests that you have accumulated much karmic (or past) experience that has shaped your value system and/or relationships. These experiences also form the foundation on which your innate talents and resources are built. Because of this common denominator, you tend to identify your inherent talents and resources with your ability to form relationships and make judgments. Relationships and values are generally important to you and may form a significant part of your identity.
You may be able to develop your interpersonal skills and your talent for evaluating situations (or exhibiting good taste) as great strengths. Often, you can not only call upon your social skills, but also people with whom you have formed close relationships as resources at your disposal. Because your inter-personal and judgment skills are likely to be inherently well-developed, you generally feel comfortable operating in the arenas symbolized by Venus. This only increases your self-confidence in these areas of life.
Often, however, the South Node symbolizes an area of life on which you have concentrated for too long. Your inability to move onward has resulted in you developing bad habits of judgment and/or interpersonal relations in the area designated by the South Node’s house placement. You may be complacent and unwilling to change and grow because you are so comfortable with your old value system and/or the state of your existing relationship(s). You may be reluctant or fear to develop other areas of life, particularly those demanding independence.
Sometimes, the complex that the South Node symbolizes is extremely negative, representing continued embroilment in past bad karma. When this occurs, it will be extremely difficult for you to detach yourself from the situation. You may feel so attached to various relationships, values and/or tastes that you feel that forsaking them and the dysfunctional behaviors associated with them is too painful. It is likely that the unresolved karmic issues you face will involve relationships and or judgment and evaluation.
Venus also symbolizes the anima (the feminine psychological archetype). The conjunction of Venus with the South Node suggests an extremely well-developed anima. Femininity (or, if you are a male, understanding the feminine) may be second nature to you. Particularly if you are a woman, your femininity may become a tremendous resource for you. Women in your life may also be helpful or useful. You are also likely to have a natural affinity for the company of women.
